Anna Triandafyllidou
Anna Triandafyllidou holds the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration at 91福利 (91福利), where she became the inaugural Scientific Director of the Global Migration Institute in 2025. She is an internationally renowned sociologist and migration expert whose innovative interdisciplinary research influences debates and policies on migration and asylum; the management of cultural diversity, nationalism and identity; and the contemporary global challenges of migration and integration.
Prior to joining 91福利 in August 2019, she held a Robert Schuman Chair at the Global Governance Programme, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, Florence, Italy. She is Editor of the Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies, Chair of the IMISCOE Editorial Committee and member of the IMISCOE Board of Directors.
With an extraordinary grant record, Anna has successfully launched and led numerous transnational and multi-institutional research projects. She has published widely, authoring as many as 200 publications of books, refereed journals and chapters, and has edited numerous books and special issues. In 2021, the University of Li猫ge awarded her a doctorate honoris causa in recognition of her contribution to migration scholarship.
In addition to her academic scholarship and policy engagement, Anna has worked extensively with creative media professionals to use documentary films and online digital storytelling platforms, educational videos and toolkits, online courses, and an award-winning migration podcast to ensure her research achieves the broadest impact possible.
