Training in Software Voyant
Sub-Theme: Horizontal Topics
While part of the Citizenship and Participation theme, these projects focus on developing, improving, and training in data management and knowledge infrastructure relevant to the wider Bridging Divides network.
Objective
This project will identify training needs of the University of Alberta Bridging Divides research team to better understand how to develop Voyant training materials for the wider Bridigning Divides research network.
Specifically, it focuses on the software Voyant, a widely used, easy to use award-winning text analysis and visualization environment that can be employed to study unstructured discourse.
Research Questions
- What are the Voyant software training needs within the Bridging Divides research network?
- What training materials in Voyant and Spyral can be developed and used across the Bridging Divides network?
- What software training workshops can be developed and delivered to Bridging Divides researchers?
Methodology
This project is a collaborative effort that will use a variety of digital methods to develop training materials.
