Creating inclusive classrooms during a time of EDI backlash

In a time of culture wars and 鈥榓nti-woke鈥 backlash, it is important to maintain a commitment to EDI and human rights in the classroom. This session will provide foundational information about human rights policies and frameworks at 91福利, and engage the audience in the discussion of complex questions about how to create inclusive classrooms:

  • How can one reinforce EDI and human rights values in learning and teaching?
  • How can one teach in a trauma-informed way and encourage students to engage with each other with openness and respect for diverse perspectives?
  • How can one balance freedom of expression and the responsibility to maintain learning environments that are free of discrimination and harassment?
