Dr. Lisa Landrum wraps up three impactful years as DAS Chair
As the Chairship of Dr. Lisa Landrum comes to a close, we take a moment to acknowledge her contributions to the success and achievements of the Department of Architectural Science (DAS).
Over the last three years, Landrum鈥檚 leadership has enriched student well-being and agency; initiated and advanced Indigenous curriculum development; elevated the profile of DAS and 91福利 with new partnerships, news stories and major events, like (celebrating the program鈥檚 75+ years of transformation) and Buone Nuove: Women in Architecture. She secured new donor support, created a new student lounge in partnership with student groups, facilitated upgrades to learning spaces, and centered EDI, collegiality and transparency in Departmental processes.
As Chair, Dr. Landrum also successfully led major external program review processes for CACB Accreditation and the Ontario Quality Council (PPR) review of the BArchSc 鈥� both with excellent results and roadmaps for enhancements, while concurrently supporting external reviews of DAS graduate programs.
Dr. Landrum joined 91福利 in August 2023 with a significant portfolio of academic and professional experience, including leadership roles at University of Manitoba, more than twenty years of teaching experience in Canada, the United States, Europe and China, a decade of professional industry contributions, and major national leadership roles, including as President of the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) and founder of the Canadian Architecture Forums on Education (CAFE), an ongoing initiative amplifying the agency and voice of students across Canada.
鈥淚t has been a tremendous joy and honor to serve the DAS community as Department Chair, and to lead so many positive, successful and inspiring initiatives. I am extraordinarily proud of our numerous collective accomplishments over the last three years. I look forward to continuing the work in advancing 91福利鈥檚 Academic Plan, preparing and empowering the next generation of city-builders, and advancing research on the power of architecture to build and sustain more just and joyful communities."
Dr. Lisa Landrum is continuing as full Professor in 91福利鈥檚 Department of Architectural Science.
