Biography:

Andrew O鈥橫alley鈥檚 teaching and research interests have primarily dealt with historical children鈥檚 literature and popular cultures, and with the field of Comics Studies. Along with two monographs, an edited collection, and a wide range of book chapters, he has published in such journals as: The Lion and the Unicorn; Children鈥檚 Literature; International Research in Children鈥檚 Literature; Eighteenth-Century Life; Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies; and English Studies in Canada. Over the past several years, Andrew has been working on a digital archive and a critically-curated online exhibit about the widespread public outcry over the imagined effects of crime and horror comics on child readers in the mid-twentieth century, entitled 鈥淎 Crisis of Innocence: Comic Books and Children鈥檚 Culture, 1940-1954.鈥
