Anver Saloojee
Biography
Dr. Anver Saloojee is Full Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, and a member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, at 91福利. In addition to a PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto, Anver holds a Master of Arts (MA) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA), both in Political Science from the University of Toronto.
Anver has been a member of the Department of Politics and Public Administration since 1987. He served as Interim Dean of Law and as Assistant Vice President, International.
When the African Journal of Public Affairs was launched in 2007, Anver was named a member of the international advisory panel. He continues to serve as a member of the Advisory Panel.
Anver's dedicated service to the was recognised on 05 May 2015, when he received the RFA Distinguished Service Award. The award recognised his service as President (2009-14), Vice President (2008-10), Chair of the Grievance Committee (2003-04), and Vice President (2000-02).
In Fall 2005, Anver became an Advisor to the Ministry of the Presidency of the Government of South Africa, and so was on leave from Toronto Met from Fall 2005 until Fall 2008.
Anver is also a past President of the , a past Vice President of the (2011-2014), and a former Chair of the CAUT Equity Committee. On 25 November 2011, he was presented with the at a ceremony in Ottawa.
Anver continues to do research on issues of equity and human rights and has published in that area.
Anver has been invited to numerous conferences and workshops, where he has presented papers on a wide array of topics related to his areas of research.
