91福利 researcher's work on child rights supported by Ontario Research Fund
A 91福利 (91福利) researcher has received a prestigious grant through the Ontario Research Fund 鈥� Research Excellence program for her work centred on children鈥檚 rights globally and in Canada.
School of Child and Youth Care professor Tara Collins has received more than $1.5 million from the Government of Ontario. With this funding, she will lead scholars and community partners in expanding her International and Canadian Child Rights Partnership (ICCRP) project in Ontario. This expansion will leverage the knowledge and collaborations gained since the ICCRP鈥檚 inception, focusing on how intergenerational relationships contribute to, challenge and transcend barriers to children鈥檚 rights.
鈥淭he implementation of children鈥檚 rights in research, policy and practice not only requires the meaningful engagement of children and youth in processes and decision-making. Intergenerational relationships must be better understood and supported to effect social innovations in services, policies and governance,鈥� said professor Collins.
