Dr. Hayden King is Anishinaabe from Beausoleil First Nation on Gchi'mnissing, in Huronia Ontario.

Dr. King is on leave from September 2025-August 2026.

Areas of Expertise

Indigenous policy, law, governance & education; settler colonialism

Research

Dr. Hayden King has a number of ongoing research projects. He is a co-lead on a SSHRC Partnership Grant considering the extent of Indigenous control of lands and resources in modern treaty contexts. Related to this work is the publication of an interactive Treaty Map website designed to offer Indigenous perspectives on every treaty in Canada dating back to 1763. Phase Two of this work is now ongoing.
