History students can acquire valuable campus-, off-campus, and program-based work experiences in a number of interesting ways.

Eligible undergraduates may apply for on-campus 鈥淐areer Boost鈥 opportunities. They also may apply for 鈥淥ther On-Campus Jobs鈥 if they are not eligible for Career Boost. Learn more about Career Boost here. Furthermore, we have a job portal called 鈥淢agnet鈥 for current 91福利 students and graduates. For more on Magnet, click here.

You may apply to the History Co-op program at the end of your first year. Students who are accepted to this program begin it in their second year. For more information about the Co-op, please click here. The Department of History also offers two Experiential Learning courses, HIS 900 and HIS 901, to third- and fourth-year students who qualify and apply. These courses consist of unpaid internships. There usually are several opportunities per semester for students to receive job experience and a course credit. With permission, students alternatively may find their own internships for these courses. Moreover, we often have paid Research Assistantships in the Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer semesters, where third- and fourth-year, or graduated students, can apply to work with faculty members to support their scholarly endeavours. As well, some paid Teaching Assistant positions may be made available to exceptional undergraduates in their fourth year of studies.
