Engagement Opportunities
In the winter and spring terms of 2023, faculty, staff and students were invited to join Jennifer Simpson, Special Advisor to the President to discuss ideas about how to best implement recommendation nine in the Standing Strong Task Force (SSTF) report which outlines that the university should develop a plan to ensure all academic programs contain mandatory learning opportunities about Indigenous history and Indigenous and colonial relations for all students. Additionally, these discussion opportunities explored possibilities for broad attention to equity across programs.
Given the attention of SSTF recommendations on Indigenous and Black learning opportunities and content, specific meeting times were established for these community members.
