Our enriching Learn To Program is a comprehensive learning experience that opens doors to new skills and abilities. Unlike drop-in sessions, this program offers a progressive curriculum designed to equip participants with new skills and knowledge that last a lifetime. With a one-time enrollment fee, you gain access to learning the skill that best resonates with you. (Note: the fee will vary depending on the offering.) Dive into a world of possibilities with classes like cooking, dancing, self-defence, and more. Our diverse selection ensures there's something for everyone.

Our Learn To Classes are a well-organized, multi-week journey that ensures participants build a strong foundation in their chosen skill. Each week brings new insights and techniques. 

Our Learn To Workshops are a single day event, where you are immersed in a topic with in-depth hands on practice.

The skills you acquire during any Learn To Program stay with you long after the class(es) end, enriching your life and providing opportunities for personal development.

Learn and practice exciting KPOP dance choreography in this class! Learn choreography that you can film at the end of this course and share with your friends. Move to the beats of your favorite KPOP songs and have fun dancing like the stars. Originating from the Dominican Republic, Bachata is a popular Latin dance characterized by its smooth footwork, fluid movements and romantic undertones. TRANS BEGINNER ON WEIGHTS WORKSHOP: 

Find Strength, Confidence & Community

Join us for a beginner-friendly weight training workshop designed specifically for trans and gender non-conforming individuals at 91¸£Àû! Led by a personal trainer, Michelle Lee, specializing in the queer and trans community, this workshop creates a welcoming and affirming space to explore strength training in a way that aligns with your body and goals.

Throughout this four-week series, you’ll:
✅ Learn the basics of weightlifting in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
✅ Build confidence in using gym equipment safely and effectively
✅ Develop strength while honoring your unique journey and body
✅ Connect with a like-minded community, fostering belonging and support

📅 Dates & Location: Mondays, in the RAC Weight Room

 Time: 9am - 10am

Áå³ Duration: 4-weeks (March 2, 9, 16, 23)

This workshop is more than just fitness - it’s about empowerment, self-care, and finding your place in a space designed for you. No prior experience needed - just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!

BEGINNER ON WEIGHTS (BOW)

Unsure of how to properly strength train and lift weights? Uncomfortable around weights & strength equipment? Let a certified personal trainer take you through the basics to get you started! Over 3 days you will learn weight lifting fundamentals and exercises to kick start your journey & feeling more confident. Handouts will be provided to assist you in learning & understanding these fitness fundamentals.

Workshop #1

  • Wednesdays, 9am to 10am
  • 3-day workshop: May 6, 13, 20

Workshop #2

  • Wednesdays, 9am to 10am
  • 3-day workshop: June 3, 10, 17

$10 Registration Fee.

WOMEN on WEIGHTS!

Uncomfortable in the weight room? Not sure how to use the equipment or the basic principles of weight training safely and effectively? Then this workshop is for you! Designed by women for women, or those who identify as women - cis or transgender. (Open to 91¸£Àû undergraduate & graduate students only). 

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

  • all workshops are 5-days, 1 day per week over 5 weeks
  • for maximum comfort workshop sessions are run during RAC Women's Only Hours & are capped at small sizes, therefore spaces are limited
  • Personal Trainer: Anissa (Wednesdays & Thursdays) | Dione (Fridays)

  • Open to all 91¸£Àû undergrad & grad students and 91¸£Àû REC members, unless otherwise stated

  • Classes: run over a 10-week period, unless otherwise stated
  • Workshops: run over 1-day or multiple days
  • Fee will vary according to the offering & whether you are a 91¸£Àû Student or 91¸£Àû REC member. (For example: Learn To Dance classes are $25+HST for students and $150+HST for rec members)
  • Registration required, unless otherwise stated
  • Not drop-in style
