Bootcamps

What are Bootcamps?

The Business Career Hub at the Ted Rogers School of Management provides students with opportunities to continuously upgrade and enhance their technical skills through industry and facilitator-led bootcamps. Attending these bootcamps provide students with fast access to industry-relevant training to bridge the gap between curriculum and market needs.

We are dedicated to supporting the  (PDF file) TRSM 2025–2030 Strategic Plan by delivering impactful services that enhance undergraduate students’ career readiness and employability.

The team is focused on building accessible and inclusive pathways for our community to develop in-demand technical skills.

These efforts contribute directly to student learning and success and support a holistic student experience.

At this time, Bootcamps are running virtually. Feel free to contact us for any questions or concerns trsmbootcamps@torontomu.ca (opens in new window) .

Success Stories and Testimonials

The Bootcamps are a great way to learn a lot of technical skills that are demanded in the industry. The hands-on approach lets you learn these skills in a way that you wouldn't in a classroom.

As a first-year BTM student who is interested in business/data analysis as a possible career path, the Power BI Bootcamps gave me a great introduction on the basics of Power BI and data visualization. I got to apply what I learned in a final challenge that mirrors what an actual task on the job might look like.

As a Business Technology Management student, I’ve learned how important different tools, platforms, and technical skills are in shaping the world of business and technology. The technical bootcamps offered through the Business Career Hub at the Ted Rogers School of Management have played a huge role in helping me explore these areas and build confidence in my technical abilities.
In my first year of university, I attended a UX Design bootcamp, which sparked my interest in design thinking, agile methodologies, and creating user-focused products. My passion led me to become a UX Design Co‑Facilitator, where I had the opportunity to teach other students and support their learning journeys.
As I continued exploring different bootcamps, I discovered a new passion for data analytics. Through SQL, Python, and Excel bootcamps, I realized how much I enjoyed working with data, solving problems, and uncovering insights. Not only did bootcamps teach me the fundamentals of these tools, but they also helped me apply them confidently in academic and professional settings.
Throughout my learning journey at TRSM, the bootcamps have introduced me to new tools, skills, and opportunities. Each session has helped me build skills that support both my current responsibilities and my long‑term career goals. I am grateful that the Business Career Hub creates hands-on learning experiences, encouraging students to explore their interests and helping them strengthen their technical skillset!

Before attending these bootcamps, I had no knowledge on using different applications such as Tableau, or languages such as Python. Different from just watching a video on how to use them, the bootcamp provided me with a more "hands-on" experience. I was able to follow along with the skills being taught and personally apply them at the same time. The workshops were also interactive and allowed us to work with scenarios you would find in the real world. The bootcamps have helped me become more confident in my abilities and have guided me in determining the career path I want to pursue.

With job markets becoming increasingly competitive, these bootcamp sessions have become a great resource for professional and personal development. Each bootcamp provides numerous opportunities for individuals to enhance their technical and soft skills, making them stand out in the workplace. These bootcamps range from beginner to advanced, so if you are looking to upgrade your skills but are not sure where to start, these facilitator-led - led lessons provided by the BCH are a great place to start.
