Dr. Rupa Banerjee and Dr. Atty Mashatan
Dr. Rupa Banerjee and Dr. Atty Mashatan are working on 鈥淪ecurity through diversity: Gender, racialization and immigrant status within the cybersecurity sector,鈥 a study which examines the career progression of women, immigrants and racialized workers in the cybersecurity sector. The research examines the impact of gender, racialization and immigrant status on occupational trajectories within the cybersecurity sector. The aim is to investigate the challenges and barriers to advancement for diverse talent within this sector.
Inclusive Media Development Centre
The Inclusive Media Development Centre has been working on a project that aims to improve standards for closed captioning in Canada. 鈥溾 The project will result in recommendations for standards and regulations on closed captioning of fast-paced programming to inform policies of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, the CRTC and Standards bodies.
Dr. N眉khet Taylor
Dr. N眉khet Taylor鈥檚 paper with Nate Martin, (submitted to Marketing Letters in October 2023) highlights four pillars for building a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable research culture: support, opportunity, agency and relevance, and suggests many implicit norms in marketing that need re-examination and change, to pave the way to a more inclusive future.
Janice Rudkowski
Janice Rudkowski is a co-investigator, with an interdisciplinary team from across Canada, on a SSHRC grant-funded project . She is currently co-supervising two Environmental Applied Science and Management students who are examining circular practices within GTA-based university makerspaces and the role of community gardens in circular economy practices.
