Dr. Chris MacDonald

Director, Ted Rogers Leadership Centre

Dr. MacDonald is Director of the Centre and is responsible for the overall direction of the Centre's research and education programs. A philosopher by training, he is currently Chair of TRSM's Department of Law and Business. He received his B.A. (Hons.) from Trent University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. (in philosophy) from the University of British Columbia.

He is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, and is author of a best-selling textbook on as well as a textbook on . MacDonald is also author of the highly-regarded Business Ethics Blog (), and founding co-editor of the and the news aggregator . He is President of the nonprofit , and co-editor of the new .

Dr. MacDonald's research is currently focused on the ethical challenges faced by 'early-career' employees, vigilante justice in social media, and the ethical obligations implied by the information-processing function of corporate boards.

Dr. MacDonald has been named as one of the 鈥100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics,鈥 for each of the past four years by Ethisphere Magazine, in addition to being named as one of the 鈥淭op 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behaviour鈥 by Trust Across America in 2011, 2012, and 2013. He is currently Interim Chair of the nonprofit . In 2025, he was made an Honourary Fellow of the , in honour of his contributions to ethics in that field.
