Patron Portal
Patrons must have signed the EDC Liability Form (opens in new window) . This will act as your signature on file.
To make a reservation online, patrons must also:
- Have no outstanding fines or holds on their account
- Have authorized access to equipment or facilities
- Set pick-up and return times within EDC operational hours for equipment
- Have a digital OneCard for KeyTracer (opens in new window) access for rooms reserved outised of EDC operational hours
There are 2 checkout centres for the EDC.
Creative Production Facilities - This is where you will reserve rooms
EDC- Equipment - This is where you will reserve equipment
Please remember this is a REQUEST only. All requests made via the patron portal are subject to approval by full time EDC staff. and can be changed or cancelled at their discretion.
The reservation will be assumed authorized unless a cancelation or change has been made.
If you do not recieve an email from the EDC or see your reservation listed in the portal, it has not been made correctly.
Tips
TIP 1 - Use bundles for full kits.
TIP 2 - The shorter the reservation the easier it will be to book. If you want it longer, add a note with the desired return date and time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
TIP 3 - Use the bookmark feature to highlight equipment you use often.
TIP 4 - To fix simultaneous pickups & returns, alter the start or end time by 15 minutes (or longer).
TIP 5 - To fix min lead time, you must push your start time back to a later time. If this cannot be done, you will need to book in person.
TIP 6 - Large reservations (over 5 items) should be made a minimum of 2 hours in advance to ensure we have time to build it.
NOTE: Large reservations made with short notice may not be completely built at your time of arrival.
TIP 7 - To fix max checkout time - reduce the length of your reservation until the error has been removed. All equipment has a maximum checkout length, usually 3 days with some exceptions.
TIP 8 - Add further info or requests to the notes section of the reservation, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please don't write an essay, be as brief as possible.
If you are classified as research or a student employee, you will need to speak with a full-time staff member to get full access to your authorizations.

TIPS - ROOMS
When EDC doors are open - pick up keys from the EDC
When EDC doors are closed - pick up keys from KeyTracer (must have digital OneCard).
DO NOT reserve the same room back to back, any back to back reservations of the same room will be cancelled
If you are booking a studio and need it longer than 3 hours, add a note and we will try to extend it for you.

- The minimum reservation lead time will change at 2pm to 24 hours and will change back to instant booking (0 minutes) when the EDC opens in the morning.
- The minimum reservation lead time will change at <b>1pm Friday to 72 hours and will change back to instant booking (0 minutes) when we open on Monday (or Tuesday in case of holiday).
- During spring/summer, exam periods and reading weeks, the minimum reservation lead time will be 24 hours
- "Some types must be booked a minimum time in advance" error means you must wait until that time to reserve, usually 14 days in advance.
