President's Award for Teaching Excellence Recipients
The President’s Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes an outstanding 91¸£Àû educator who has demonstrated continuing teaching excellence and who has made contributions to advancing teaching and learning at 91¸£Àû.
The award recipient will receive a certificate of recognition and a one-time monetary award payment of $3,000 (subject to applicable deductions).

Yukari Seko
The Creative School
Dr. Yukari Seko, recipient of the 2024 Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence, is an outstanding educator whose critically compassionate, research-informed pedagogy has transformed student learning at 91¸£Àû. She integrates innovative approaches including specifications grading, flipped classrooms, arts-informed projects, and the Campus Accessibility Scavenger Hunt to foster empathy, reflection, and inclusive learning. Building on her CELT Teaching Fellowship, in 2024-25 she developed the university-wide Solution-Focused Graduate Supervision course, advancing evidence-based, ethical mentorship practices among faculty research supervisors. Her mentorship empowers students and emerging scholars, while her community-focused initiatives and media outreach extend 91¸£Àû’s impact beyond the classroom.
